Subject: District Regional Squad & Scottish Squad Information

All,

During recent days it has become apparent that there is a mixed

level of knowledge within the Clubs about the District Regional Squad

and Scottish Squad Programme.

In particular with reference to the Selection Criteria and Methodology.

Comprehensive information is available on the Scottish Swimming website

and can be accessed with the following link.

In particular:

Performance Plan - Selection Policy and Times

Information was also sent out to Clubs in the monthly mailing earlier in the year.

Please ensure that the above link gets as wide a circulation as possible within

your Club so that swimmers and parents are informed as well as Coaches.

I suggest that hardcopies of all documents should be issued to your Coaches

so that everyone is on same “sheet” and Bronze, Silver and Gold times become

commonly understood terms.

The District Regional Squad programme is intended to be inclusive, this year

approx. 180 swimmers have met the required criteria, the plan is to cater for 300.

Regards

John
